Classes:
We periodically hold 5-session beginners classes throughout the year. The cost is $40 for the class. Fencers will also need to become members of the USFA by signing up for a non-competitive membership ($10) by the second class.

First Practice:
The beginner's class cost is $40 for the class plus a $10 USFA membership. The $40 includes the cost of the class and a fencing glove. The United States Fencing Association (USFA) requires all students to be insured; there is a free USFA trial membership form which will need to be filled out before the start of the first practice; fencers under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign as well. All paperwork will be available at the first practice.
Due at the beginning of the second practice:
Proof of purchase of a USFA membership registration The basic non-competitive membership is all that is required and the cost is $10.
Clothing and equipment requirements:
Fencers should wear loose jeans/sweatpants, t-shirts, and tennis shoes. No shorts are permitted at practices.
The club maintains all basic fencing gear (except for men’s athletic protectors). Fencers will need to have their own fencing glove which is included in the $40 cost of the Beginners Class.
Men will be required to have their own athletic cups when we start using the foils (3rd class and beyond) The club has chest protectors for women (required protective equipment) that fit into pockets inside the fencing jacket; these can be ordered from any fencing equipment company if the fencer would like to have their own.
